The holidays are such a special time - to step back and give thanks, to snuggle up by the fire, to sip on hot cocoa with your sisters while online shopping. The cool weather always has me craving soup, hot drinks, and warming spices.
We’re leveling up Swiss Miss packets with a healthier hot cocoa that has amazing benefits. It’s anti-inflammatory, magnesium-rich, brain healthy, and full of antioxidants.
HEALTHY HOT CHOCOLATE
Ingredients:
1c milk (I used almond)
1/2c water
2T cacao powder
2t raw honey (maple syrup or coconut sugar)
1t vanilla extract
2T dark chocolate chips
Pinch of cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Optional garnish: cinnamon stick, candy cane, whipped cream, marshmallows
Directions:
In a small pot, add milk, water, and cacao powder
Bring to a boil over medium heat
Add in raw honey, vanilla, salt, cinnamon and chocolate chips
Stir to combine
Pour in mug and add your adornments
Enjoy!
