Sleepy Girl Mocktail Recipe

Sleepy Girl Mocktail Recipe

If you’re struggling to wind down before bed, I hear you. I’ve been through my fair share of sleepless nights, and the struggle is real.

A good night of sleep starts with prep. Check out my night routine for the full scoop.

Now, let me introduce you to the Sleepy Girl Mocktail. This delightful concoction is designed to lower your cortisol levels, paving the way for a peaceful night’s rest.

Pair it with a book of your choice (check out our book recs here), snuggle up in your cozy Harbor Hoodie, or indulge in your favorite RomCom.

Here’s what’s in it and why:

Tart Cherry Juice

Tart cherry juice is a natural source of melatonin, the hormone that regulates sleep and wake cycles. Consuming it may improve the quality and duration of sleep. It also contains an amino acid called tryptophan, which can boost production of melatonin. (Plus, no groggy aftermath, unlike melatonin gummies).

Magnesium Powder

Did you know that half of the US population is magnesium deficient? If you’re taking Vitamin D, its effect might be hampered if you have low magnesium. Magnesium is known to calm the nervous system and regulate melatonin, aiding in relaxation and promoting better sleep. I use this one from Pure Encapsulations.

GABA Powder

GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid) is an inhibitory neurotransmitter with potential calming effects on the brain, promoting relaxation and better sleep. Adding GABA powder is optional.

Sparkling Water

Any kind of sparkling water works. I used Black Cherry Waterloo to enhance the cherry flavor. Topo Chico is my fav alternative.

How to make it: Pour tart cherry juice into a wine glass halfway. Add your supplements and mix well–using a frother helps to incorporate everything.

Add ice and top with sparkling water. Give it a light stir, and enjoy!

Sweet Dreams!
